Default working days

Overview

To help you keep track of time and make sure you can accurately plan and schedule tasks, our system needs to know your teams default working days and amount of time you expect them to work on each of those days. Without this information it will be impossible for you you accurately plan and schedule tasks for team members as each day has a maximum of 24hrs in it.

We understand that people prefer flexible working conditions nowadays and that is why our system is designed to be flexible and allows you to set the default working days and time worked for each of those days, at a system level or an individual team member level. We don't specify core working time period, just a minimum time requirement each day.

During your onboarding experience you will have been asked to set these up. If you need to adjust what you entered, please follow the steps below.

System level - Default working days and time

  • Warning: Changing the default working days at a system level will not change team members who have custom working days assigned, you will need to change these manually. These changes will be effective from the current day only, historical timesheets will remain as they are.

To update the system level working days and time, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the timesheets settings page. You will find this under the settings menu on the main navigation.
  2. At the top of the timesheet settings page you will see a section titled 'System Default Working Days'.

    In this section you will see the currently selected working days and the default time required to be logged by team members on their timesheets.

  1. Click or tap the edit default working days button.
  2. Enter your new settings and click or tap the save default working days button.
  3. Success! The system level default working days have been updated.
Individual Team member - Default working days and time

To update an individual Team members default working days and time, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Team page from the main navigation.
  2. Find the team member you wish to update.
  3. Click or tap on their row to expand it and then click or tap on the user profile link in the top left of the expanded view.

  1. On the user profile page, scroll down the page until you see the section titled User Working Days.

  1. Click or tap the edit button.
  2. Enter your new settings for this team member and click or tap the save button.

  1. Success! The default working days for this team member have been updated.
